Learning Clay… and Learning Content

When I first started Pink Bow Clay Co., I thought the hardest part about clay would be figuring out how to get clean edges or mastering technique. Turns out, that was the easy part. The real circus? Learning how to make “content” about clay. 🎪😂

Don’t get me wrong—I love creating. Sitting at my table, mixing color recipes, auditioning cutters, and watching an idea turn into earrings… that part is pure therapy. But as soon as I hit “record,” things get wild.

Suddenly my tripod is sliding sideways, I’ve got clay stuck to my sleeve, and I’m talking to my phone like it’s my new coworker. (“Yes, Tina, I am making pumpkins today, thanks for asking.”)

And then there are the hands. Do you know how often your hands are in the shot when you’re making earrings? Constantly. Which is why I suddenly found myself shopping for rings I didn’t need—just to make my hands look more “social media–worthy.” Because let me tell ya… I’m 47, and these hands have been through it! 💍 #BlingItForTheContent

Somehow, my calm creative time turns into a blooper reel of me chasing good lighting, redoing shots because my head blocked the camera, or accidentally filming in slo-mo. 🙃

But here’s the thing: I’m learning. Just like I had to figure out how to properly bake clay or sand edges, I’m learning how to capture the behind-the-scenes chaos in a way that’s fun, real, and (hopefully) gives you a laugh while showing off the jewelry I love to make.

So if you see a reel where my camera shakes, my nails look freshly bedazzled, or I suddenly burst out laughing—it’s because I’m figuring this out right alongside you. The earrings might be polished, but the content? Definitely a work in progress.

And honestly? I kind of like it that way. ✨

👉 Come follow the Pink Bow Clay Co. journey (and the chaos!) on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube—where you’ll see the polished pieces, the behind-the-scenes mess, and probably a few shaky tripod moments too. 🎀
