Hi friends, and welcome to the very first post on the Pink Bow Blog!
It only feels right to begin at the beginning…
Pink Bow Clay Co. was created in one of the hardest seasons of my life.
While walking alongside my sister through her breast cancer battle, I needed something that brought both peace and joy. One day, I picked up polymer clay, and what started as a simple creative outlet quickly grew into a genuine passion.
Home for me is Greenville, SC, with my husband and teenage children—but I’ve also spent a lot of time in a rented apartment outside of
DC, near my sister. During that season, I had a lot of quiet evenings alone with my thoughts, contemplating the gravity of our situation.
With so much of life up in the air, I craved a sense of stability—something that was mine in the middle of the chaos. That’s when I got serious about working with clay and even set up a rolling “clay cart” as my mobile studio. It gave me a small, organized corner where everything I needed was within reach and easy to tuck away when the day was done. Over time, that cart came to represent more than storage; it symbolized resilience, adaptability, and the reminder that creativity can move with us through even the hardest seasons.
Over time, bows became my signature. To me, a bow symbolizes femininity, celebration, and tying things together with love and intention.
Every piece I make carries a touch of that meaning.
Here on the blog, you’ll find behind-the-scenes peeks from my studio, previews of new edits, styling inspiration, and personal stories from this journey. My hope is that it feels like sitting down with a friend—one who loves pretty things, pink bows, and meaningful connections as much as you do.
If you’ve found your way here, thank you. Your support means more than words can say, and I’m so excited to share this adventure with you.
Update: After 18 long months of treatment my sister is cancer-free!
Until next time,
Mary
